Clinical focus:

  • We are also a key member of the multidisciplinary team undertaking initial nutrition screening recognizing patients at “nutritional risk,” nutritional assessment and offering early nutritional intervention, which is central to aiding the recovery of the individual.
  • The Department provides extensive in-patient and out-patient clinical nutrition services, which includes advanced nutrition support through enteral, parenteral, and oral nutrition therapy. The specialized areas covered includes but not restricted to paediatrics, geriatrics, post-operative care, trauma, nephrology, hepatology, gynaecology, oncology, critical care, neuro rehabilitation, paediatric endocrinology, Drug Resistant Epilepsy and Specially challenged children to name a few.
  • Learners are trained to perform as an integral member of multidisciplinary healthcare teams, with competencies in comprehensive nutritional assessment to identify patients at nutritional risk. This facilitates timely, evidence-based nutritional interventions that play a crucial role in patient recovery and clinical outcomes. Our Students are also trained in delivering effective patient counselling as part of Master Health Check-up programmes, promoting preventive healthcare and lifestyle modification.
