The department is an active member of the medical community, organizing a number of outreach programs with the aim of educating the public and creating awareness about nutrition. The department celebrates and create awareness towards almost all the important days in the calendar, including National Nutrition Month, Breastfeeding Week, Food Safety Day, World Health Day etc., through organising exhibitions, demonstrations, guest lectures, competitions etc.,
